The invention provides a method for inducing mutations in colored-leaf varieties of Pteroceltis tatarinowii. By soaking germinating seeds of Pteroceltis tatarinowii in a 1.2-1.5% ethyl methanesulfonate (EMS) solution, followed by moisture-retaining and light-shielding treatment, dwarf mutant plants with yellow leaves or yellow-spotted leaves can be obtained, with a mutation rate of 1.67-3.00%. This method is easy to operate.

Using ethyl methanesulfonate (EMS) chemical mutagenesis technology, seeds of Pteroceltis tatarinowii are soaked in a 1.2-1.5% solution, combined with moisture-retaining and light-shielding treatment, to directionally induce leaf color mutations (yellowing or yellow spots) with a mutation rate of 1.67-3.00%.
